I have been practicing astrology professionally since 2007, but my love of astrology goes back to 2000. At that time I met a friend who showed me that our natal charts are much more complex than a simple “sun sign”. He taught me to create a natal wheel chart and how to interpret it, and from there I began a deep study of modern astrological principles.
At the same time I began studying astrology, I was earning a B.A in English. I went on to graduate school ( earning an M.A in Literature with an emphasis in Critical Theory) in 2008, while also continuing to study and practice astrology. I would often read my friends’ charts and soon began to receive referrals, and was asked to attend group gatherings and give astrology readings.
In early 2008 I moved to Paris to finish my Master's thesis, and ended up teaching English at a University outside of Paris, where I lived until mid 2011. I was also working remotely as an astrology software report writer for a school in China. In order to meet my ISAR electives requires for certification, I began commuting from Paris to London to attend the Center for Psychological Astrology. In 2009, I took and passed the extensive ISAR- CAP exam.
While living in France, I re-connected with Evelyn Roberts, who was facilitating Heaven and Earth Workshops for astrology. She was bringing some of the best astrologers from all over the world together in various international locations. I applied for a scholarship to help facilitate her current workshop entitled “Conversations with Astrology” in Church Stretton, England. This workshop hosted Liz Greene, Rob Hand, Nick Campion, and Bernadette Brady. Through Nick Campion I discovered the The Sophia Centre in Wales and began a second Master’s program in Cosmology and Culture. I helped facilitate another workshop in Mexico the following year, however this period coincided with my Saturn return, and I returned from France to my hometown in South Carolina after the loss of a family member. continued distance learning through the Sophia Center while reading Liz Greene’s work and taking classes where she was teaching through the Sophia Center. I began building a local client base within my astrological consulting practice.
Between 2011 and now I have worked as an astrological coach/counselor while raising my two daughters (now 7 and 10). I have also become a certified Kundalini yoga teacher. My focus as an astrologer has been 1-1 client work and astrological counseling. I began studying Vedic astrology several years ago, in conjunction with deeper experience as a Kundalini yoga teacher. Though I have practiced hatha yoga since I was 19, sharing the transformative capacity of what a Kundalini yoga practice can bring, has been incredibly rewarding for me. The impact that astrology and Kundalini yoga can have on awareness, consciousness and wholeness is incredible. Helping clients to understand themselves more deeply so that they can transform and heal is my life’s work.
My consulting work actively and intuitively explores how engaging with astrological symbolism, myth, language, alchemy, and Jungian depth psychology - can bring wholeness and healing to my clients.
“There is not one Astrology with a capital A. In each epoch, the astrology of the time was a reflection of the kind of order each culture saw in celestial motions, or the kind of relationship the culture formulated between heaven and earth.”- Alexander Ruperti
Astrology is a philosophy and a lens through which to see yourself and the world. It's an ancient tool, a therapeutic as well as a practical approach to oneself and life. It's definition is as elusive as the term “love.” Yet like a seed that has the inherent promise of what will become the oak tree, your chart can show the conditions and possibilities into which your soul is “planted”. This image of the chart is a kind of mandala, that through meditation and reflection upon brings awareness of the path to what James Hillman calls “the soul's purpose.”
