CAP-ISAR certified Astrologer

CAP-ISAR certified Astrologer

I have been practicing astrology professionally since 2007 while living in Atlanta, where I began a mentorship with David Railey. However, my love of astrology goes back to 2000, when I met a friend who showed me that our natal charts are a much more complex than a simple “sun sign”. He taught me to read a natal chart and I was hooked. I began a deep study of modern astrological principles while also earning a B.A in English. I went to graduate school ( earning an M.A in Literature with an emphasis on Critical Theory) and continued to study and practice astrology. I read friends' charts and began to receive referrals and was asked to attend gatherings where I would read for groups of people collectively and individually.

In 2006, I decided to get certified in astrology through ISAR (International Society of Astrological Research.) I moved to Paris to finish my Master's thesis, and simultaneously commuted to London from Paris to attend the Center for Psychological Astrology. (These classes satisfied the elective requirement for ISAR certification). In 2009, I took and passed the extensive ISAR- CAP exam, which tests proficiency in a wide range of astrological concepts and interpretative principles. Later in 2009, I returned to France to teach English at the University of Versailles, where I re-connected with Evelyn Roberts, a wonderful astrologer who studied under Liz Greene. Evelyn was offering 4 scholarships for young astrologers to help her with her incredible “Heaven and Earth” workshop “Conversations with Astrology” in Church Stretton, England. I applied and was thrilled to earn the scholarship. This workshop hosted Liz Greene, Rob Hand, Nick Campion, and Bernadette Brady. Through Nick Campion I discovered the The Sophia Centre in Wales and began a second M.A in Cosmology and Culture there. However, this period coincided with my Saturn return, and the universe re-routed me back to my hometown to attend family matters.

Since 2011, I have continued to build my astrological practice while raising two beautiful daughters. In 2018, after practicing Modern Psychological Astrology for 18 years, I found compelling reasons to shift my practice to more traditional, Hellenistic approach. There has been an incredible astrological movement that began with Project Hindsight, and though I had been introduced to this growing trend toward a more traditional approach by Rob Hand's lecture in Church Stretton years before, it was only in 2018, that the significance of so many earlier sources impacted my methodology. The accuracy of these changes in my practice has been phenomenal. I'm inspired to be an astrologer more than ever, and I will be studying and trying to share with clients for the rest of my life. My second greatest passion besides astrology is kundalini yoga. I teach this beautiful technology of transformation locally and enjoy incorporating certain meditations or kriyas for clients when they feel additional breath work or meditation will be helpful!

My readings integrate ancient techniques with a modern consulting approach, to help clients gain insight, clarity and a more clear sense of direction and purpose in their lives. I occasionally incorporate astrologer Liz Greene and Juliet Sherman-Burke's Greek mythic tarot deck in my readings when helpful as well.

“There is not one Astrology with a capital A. In each epoch, the astrology of the time was a reflection of the kind of order each culture saw in celestial motions, or the kind of relationship the culture formulated between heaven and earth.”- Alexander Ruperti

Astrology is a philosophy and a lens through which to see yourself and the world. It's an ancient tool, a therapeutic as well as a practical approach to oneself and life. It's definition is as multiplicatious as the term “love” and my approach blends ancient tradition with a modern psychological approach. You were born in a unique moment, and like a snapshot, your natal chart captures that moment of birth in time. Like a seed that has the inherent promise of what will become the oak tree, your chart can show the conditions and possibilities into which your soul is “planted”. This image of the chart is a kind of mandala, that through meditation and reflection on, brings awareness of the path to what James Hillman calls “the soul's purpose” I think of astrology as the language of the cosmos, and I have a passion for the art of interpreting this language for clients because I feel that understanding ourselves and to some extent, the conditions of our fate, can lead us to a more authentic destiny.
